WHEN IS CAMP?

Camp is July 17 - July 21, 2024

​Check In: Noon - 2:00 PM Wednesday July 17th

​Check Out: Noon - 1:00 PM Sunday July 21st

 

WHO IS CAMP FOR?

​Camp is for high school runners. From incoming freshman to rising seniors. High school class of 2025-2028. Runners from all states are welcome.

​

WHAT DO I BRING TO CAMP?

  • Check Packing List under CAMP FORMS for the full list.

  • HAVE YOUR CONSENT FORMS SUBMITTED BEFORE THE START OF CAMP!

    • They will be emailed to you after registration closes. (First week of July)

    • All camp forms must be on file before camper will be allowed to participate in any activities

  • Linens (twin bed sheets or sleeping bag, pillow case, 2 towels)

  • Running clothes for 5 days. (Remember we will run 2x a day most days)

  • Running shoes (we recommend 2 pairs)

  • Regular clothes for 5 days

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Extra socks

  • Swim suit

  • Personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, sunscreen, bug spray, lysol wipes, ibuprofen, bandaids)

  • Snacks (Non refrigerated ONLY, granola bars, etc. this is a nut free camp so NO NUTS of any kind)

  • Cash for evening snack bar and camp store merchandise ($50-100)

  • Rollable yoga mat if wanted

 

IS MY CAMP FEE REFUNDABLE?

50% of your camp fee is non refundable.

If you pull out of camp prior to registration closing on June 30, 2024, the remainder of the camp fee will be refundable. After June 30, 2024 the camp fee is non refundable.

 

WILL THERE BE MEDICAL STAFF ON SITE?

We will have a licensed Athletic Trainer on site 24/7. In the case of an emergency the parents will be notified right away.

 

WHO WILL I RUN WITH AT CAMP?

Campers will be assigned a group based on ability level the first day of camp. These groups of 10-15 campers will be who you train with all week.

 

CAN I BRING MY CAR TO CAMP?

Due to limited parking, campers are not allowed to drive their own car to camp. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up by an adult.

 

WHO WILL I BUNK WITH?

Room assignments will be based on your training group for the week. If you have a specific person you'd like to room with, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate. Male and Female dorms are in separate buildings.

 

IF I AM FLYING IN, DO YOU OFFER TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT?

If you are in need of an airport shuttle, please email us and we can set up a shuttle for you. The shuttle will run from the Louisville airport only. (SDF)

 

HOW MUCH WILL I RUN AT CAMP?

Each group will be assigned runs based on past experience and ability level. Some groups will run 7-10 miles per day while others may run much less. We encourage all campers to have started their summer training and be able to run for 4 miles per day if coming to camp.

 

WILL I GET A CAMP SHIRT?

Each camper will get a camp shirt along with some other items from our sponsors in their goodie bag. Additional camp merchandise will be available for sale.

 

WHAT IF I LOSE AN ITEM DURING CAMP?

We recommend that gear and personal items clearly have your name labeled on them with a sharpie. Report lost items to your group leader. If you leave any items after departing camp, please contact the camp and we will attempt to locate them for you. The camp can mail any items back to you at the camper’s expense. Lost or stolen items will not be replaced by the camp.

 

WHAT WILL I EAT DURING CAMP?

The cafeteria on site will provide all meals to campers. We recommend bringing snacks for throughout the day. Each evening the camp store will also be open with snacks. This is a NUT FREE camp, so do not bring any type of trail mix or nut mix to camp.

 

WHAT IF I TAKE MEDICATION?

All medication will be noted on your consent forms. Medications will be turned over to the camp doctor at check in. You will stop by the nurses office to take daily medications.

 

CAN CHILDREN USE THEIR CELLPHONES TO CALL HOME WHILE THEY’RE AT CAMP?

Cell phones are allowed, but we recommend you keep your phone in your dorm during the day as counselors are not responsible for your phone while you're on runs.

 

WHAT IS YOUR COVID POLICY?

If a camper becomes sick during camp, we will call the parents. If your roommate tests positive for COVID during camp and you are vaccinated, you will be monitored for symptoms. If you are unvaccinated, we will monitor symptoms and call the parents. This is a Campbellsville University policy we will abide by while on their campus.
